Elder Bernard paid us a visit to tell his story, full of life lessons. We sat together at Paterson Park to enjoy the warm breeze and sun filtering through the leaves above us. Together, we smudged and cleansed our eyes, ears, mouth, and heart. We learned about resilience and spirit. Elder Bernard's lessons will stay with us now throughout our lives.
